Professors that make attendance part of the grade should just not. It’s dumb. The students are adults, treat them as such.
The only time I see attendance being part of the grade OK are musical ensembles like choir, band, orchestra, etc.

Ah ok. I don’t really play sports games so I don’t know the ins and outs of a lot of them.
But we all know what that front office is like, so not surprising it’s pushing players away 😭
