Tangential but relevant - it appears OpenAI is going after successful business ideas, built on top of their models, after they've been de-risked by small startups.

This is the key. Build the POC - the design doc is nice to have, but not informative enough because the implementation will have obstacles not previously thought of/discovered in the doc.
