Whimsy, chaos & words
If planning was a sport, I would be a gold medalist. It's too bad I'm not artsy enough to turn it into a career. :D

Value yourself in 2026: $5 billion break-up fees shouldn't just be for businesses!

My first impression? This sounds depressed. The AI voices are so hollow, it sounds like every character is suppressing their emotions. There's zero chance I'd be interested in watching this. The pacing and emotions are so off. What a waste.
The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them

A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

Anyone know if any of these Advent Books are any good?
November 26, 2025 at 2:42 AM
This is such a small thing, but could all these secondary streamers make sure they have a visible Sign In button on their home pages, please? Nebula's a good example of doing it right.

Absolutely fucking not.
TurboTax is about to be integrated into ChatGPT, where customers will be guided through tasks tied to their tax filings or financial profile by the AI chatbot.

TurboTax owner Intuit is also paying OpenAI more than $100 million a year to power AI agents.

Goodreads Choice awards... some 'drama', but honestly, readers did it to ourselves by shelving books - both for total number shelved and by what they're calling those shelves (e.g., romantasy). I do think the "most popular" and "favorite" language needs some fine-tuning.

So. All's Fair. What... the heck? Women representing other women in divorces sounds fine as a premise. But the way women *are* in this show? Not fine. Not fine, friends.

Saw Predator last night, really enjoyed it. Would be okay with an alien/aliens adjacent movie not having a yellow lifter reference in it.

Measuring everyone's sick status by how much toast they eat for breakfast and how many tissues they go through..both pieces consumed and only three tissues? Off to school we go!

First Christmas movie of 2025 in the bag. A Royal Montana Christmas, from Hallmark. So many unanswered questions. Lots of Christmas decor, lots of ranch-themed activities. This one averaged 3 stars on the enjoyment & Christmas movie tropes scales.

The LAPD's behaviour towards fans after the Dodgers won the World Series makes me even sadder that the Jays lost.
November 2, 2025 at 2:43 PM
So proud of everything the Jays accomplished this season. They were a fun team to watch play and they went farther than most people thought they could. Obviously, we wanted it all, but there's always next year. 💙

So worried for Springer. I want him in the lineup, but also don't want him to do even more damage to himself. :-/

Last chance to turn it off.

On Monday, November 3rd, Microsoft will start using your LinkedIn data for AI training. And remember, you're opted in by default.

To toggle it off 👉 Account - Settings & Privacy > Data privacy > Data for Generative AI Improvement.

Finally finished the fabric cutting/pinning/handsewing portion of my son's costume. Did I do an *amazing* job? No. But given how minimal my sewing experience has been previously, I'm pretty gosh darned proud of myself.

How does Scientology continue to exist? We've heard about the hard labor that *children* are punished with, about the interrogations, isolation, and punishments. Why hasn't it been dismantled due to the abuse?

The only truly ethical response that a self-described artist can make. Anything else is a betrayal of one's colleagues.
“I am not interested, nor will I ever be interested. I'm 61, and I hope to be able to remain uninterested in using it at all until I croak. ... The other day, somebody wrote me an email, said, ‘What is your stance on AI?’ And my answer was very short. I said, ‘I'd rather die.’” 🫡
Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro says 'I'd rather die' than use generative AI
Del Toro's new Frankenstein adaption reimagines Mary Shelley's 1818 Gothic novel. Frankenstein was like a tech bro: "creating something without considering the consequences," he explains.

Talking myself out of taking Modern World History via Study Hall. I miss school :(
Study Hall courses offer the best low-investment, risk free way to start, re-start, or continue your college journey! Where else can you take a college course that starts on YouTube, and only pay for the credit after you've passed the course?

Zelda has been sounding the alarm on the dangers of AI for YEARS, long before the technology got to where it is now, because she's:

1) brilliant (go watch Lisa Frankenstein).
2) ridiculously smart.
3) experienced first-hand how fucking WEIRD people are about her Dad.

I have complicated feelings about it. None of them are good. I'm pissed off, I'm demoralized. All the things you'd expect.

But they have less to do with AI or Anthropic specifically and more to do with how we don't value creative work.

Every week, my partner and I watch Alien: Earth, and I have so many questions afterward. I love half of the show, and I'm really disappointed by the other half.

I'm watching a pokemon card vendor live stream purely for the vibes. I've never collected the cards, never played the game, just enjoying the positivity. Vibe-based living is the way to be.
