Out of devotion to my college aged sons and my love of storytelling, I launched a podcast offering an alternative to the outdated and narrow archetypes promoted by many content providers and influencers. The Alchemist.

I’ve been observing a lot of these political posts. I get it. It feels good to speak truth to power.

It just seems when posts are vilifying and vitriolic they actually cast shadows that injustice hides behind.

If we want the collective to move forward it seems to me we have to be more skillful.

So much conflict arises when people conflate subjectivity and objectivity. Scott Jennings has no respect for anyone that refers to their truth because he believes in The Truth. When an individual vibe and tribe wants everyone to conform to their subjectivity, don’t waste energy getting angry.

AI is amazing. If we get feedback that our emails are harsh and confrontational, AI can help us write better emails.

If the root cause is we may be a bit of an asshole, AI helps us appear like less of an asshole — until we open our mouths and start talking shit.

AI can’t fix the human condition.

We may feel like we broke free of the Punxsutawney time loop. There may be a stage of vilifying citizens of the Punxsutawney Republic — a coping mechanism. Self-compassion for our journey develops the skill of human diplomacy to see & guide those wanting out while not fueling those who don’t.

The mind is a stubborn little groundhog. Does it serve us or hold us hostage?

Upon discovering the mind is our own creation, we exit the Punxsutawney time loop.

At the edge of reason, we realize love and empathy are the only solvents powerful enough to dissolve the little fucker. Take the leap!

Other than strictly observable facts, almost everything is subjective. We get into trouble when we conflate subjectivity with objectivity — especially when this becomes tribal. It takes skill and measured humility to engage in human diplomacy.

100% of the time, context shapes our perceptions and dictates the content of our responses to life.

Narrow context yields lazy or heavily rationalized responses.

Expansive context yields elegant and appropriately brief responses.

I shared with my sons that they’ll learn more about others when they understand the lies people are willing to accept as truths. The same applies to ourselves. It takes practice and courage to see things as they are.

Our vibe is a collection of stories we tell ourselves. Our context.

We look out there for validation and a supportive tribe — confirmation bias.

Noticing our vibe feels tired is a gift.

Seeing things as they are expands context.

Upgrading your vibe expresses gratitude for this gift.

Groundhog Day definitely ranks high on the Dad’s Alchemy top movies list. Speculation is Phil spent 12,400 days reliving the same day—beautiful parable for the human condition. We all try to kick ass in life but maybe we’ll discover it’s our own metaphysical foot kicking our own metaphysical ass? 🤔

We cannot ask the ego to kill itself. We cannot outwit the ego with the ego. We can observe the ego. We can observe that which we create.

We can choose to live vicariously through our creations.

We can choose small victories in lieu of growth and freedom.

Personal alchemy innovates the oldest story in human history—the human condition. It helps get to and through the stories we tell ourselves.

I launched a podcast out of devotion to my sons. In that devotion I can honor the authenticity you deserve. With no social media presence, I’ve come out of hiding to freely offer a more powerful alternative to the tired “bro talk” archetypes…The Alchemist.

An alchemist knows heart, intellect, and will must come into balance in this karmic dance of life. When imbalanced, we’ll be dancing the funky chicken when our karmic dance partner is doing the tango.
