Scrooge asking Marley, "Couldn't I take 'em all at once, and have it over?" is the earliest recorded instance of a project sponsor trying to crash the schedule.

No, Ebenezer. You can't have 3 sprints of trauma in one night. That’s how you get production bugs. And by bugs, I mean eternal damnation.

Charlie Brown is always bring put in charge of things even though he is completely inept at it. This is a metaphor for cooperate management.

Billy Joel has owed us this answer for many years: what on earth is a real estate novelist?

I have seen a lot of downsizing blamed on AI but I've never actually seen someone's job adequately done by AI. Kind of seems like it's the current Boogeyman for layoffs

My kids are too young that Kpop demon Hunters scares them so I haven't had a reason to watch it.

For people with kids and the ability to take paid vacation time I highly recommend being off fo a PD day every now and then. It can be surprisingly fun to focus on a kid all day (even if they won't remember it)

I've been a big fence sitter on the AI movement; feeling that the reality lies somewhere in the middle of the two extremes of "AI changes everything" and "AI is a garbage fad that makes life worse".

I suppose I'm the Aaron Burr of generative AI.

Is anyone else hoping that the @torontobluejays.bsky.social lose on Friday so we go to a game 7? Don't get me wrong, I want the Jays to take the series but I want to watch the final game but my kids' Halloween plans are going to prevent me from seeing the whole thing

Given some LLM coding technologies habit of using typescript I wonder how much of that is man-made software projects VS AI build projects

There's a part of me that knows #OpenAI 's not for profit strategy is a public relations play; but every now and then I want to be a little optimistic and hope that some good will come from it.

My least favourite trope in star wars is how everyone treats droids as transactional brings EXCEPT the protagonist who is the only friendly person to them

Serious question: What is the level of salary inequality that we should be ok with? Obviously billionaires shouldn't exist but at what point should a person be viewing their income as being in excess?

If everyone uses AI to write emails, and AI to summarize emails.... are we basically just communicating with bullet points now?

I love how there is an entire community known as EDC, or everyday carry, but basically seeks to ask the question:" how can men achieve the same function as having a purse, without carrying a purse "

You have to love influencers who recommend time boxing as a solution for your busy life. The booktok influencer is just like "yeah look, I block time to read". Like.... of course you do, its your job.

Years ago, like most people, I moved away from traditional physical media and now I'm sitting here wondering if I should be buying every movie the @criterion.bsky.social has out

I watched #Nosferatu (2024) last night and wow! I'm not a big horror buff but I was very impressed with it. Felt very artistic and raw.

Jurassic Park is highly unrealistic. In reality everything would work amazingly until Elon Musk gets involved, tries to aggressively cut costs, and then ruins it because he has no fucking clue what he's doing.

Social media accounts run by YouTube famous creators are painful. I watch your bullshit movie reviews, I don't need your incorrect opinions on European history.
