One of the challenges of studying the hometown is dealing with peer reviewers who get upset by a writing style that is deemed to be "too personal." Oh well. Got past a peer reviewer who caved in in the end.

In this article, I think about the controversial inheritance case Llorente vs Llorente in Nabua which lasted for 15 years and which reached all the way to the Philippine Supreme Court, becoming a landmark case on divorce and succession.

You might remember China suddenly limiting its ELT industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this article, I write about the repercussions of this move by the Chinese state on what I call the "raciolinguistic disposability" of Filipino teachers in China.
