The almost certainly do. Metrics from CapFrameX basically show the total GPU memory usage of everything in windows only ever going to about 6.5 GB (from 8)

And with POM on so many surfaces (so added height maps). It is almost incomparably worse.

"And to you, Wastelander, I present the "Tome of Embarassment". It contains 1000s of years of our culture's history, rendered illegible due to giant pixelisation and colour shifting."

That is fantastic. I actually do not own Unreal in CD form yet! Have yet to find one I am comfortable with buying!

It would be nice If Unreal integrated DLSS Ray Reconstruction in the Default shipping build. It would aid the visuals immensely from a stability perspective.

UE is adding a lighter mainly diffuse only RTGI based on irradiance field probes (like idtevh). It hopefully gets added as a step down setting (like medium) below full high and epic Lumen. But i agreed Lumen lacks temporal stability for its cost, especially Software Mode (which I think is poor).

Yeah it is very expensive - much better on X800 (of course) :P I think X1800 has it too?

Reminds me of the comments I got about x800xt and x850xt only being SM 2.0b and how it was a Microsoft Nvidia conspiracy to screw ATi (who themselves made an SM 3.0 GPU not long after with Xenos and x1800). Buyers remorse creates all sorts of crazy narratives!

You also got some neat tessellation patches in games on that ATi arch - while the extended shadow support on fx is kinda busted!
