I’ve not seen Close Encounters since I was a kid. I recently tried to get my wife to watch it with me since she hasn’t seen it and she loves Richard Dreyfus but she doesn’t like Sci-Fi’s and won’t watch it 🥺

I’d moved over to the Commodore Amiga by the time Space Crusade came out so I had that version but I used to and still do love this game 🧡

My win today will hopefully finally getting my LVP floor installed today after more than a week of sleepless nights and phone calls arranging for the floor to be leveled enough to lay it which has been done but my personality quirk is my mind always heads towards the worst case scenario 😥

I work for a broadband company over here in the US setting up fiber phone networks (amongst other services) for businesses and it’s still very common for businesses to use fax machines. But personally I can’t remember the last time I used one.

I never played it myself but I remember reading that it was originally supposed to be a Thundercats game released in 1987 but Elite Systems lost the license and released it as a separate IP. You can still see the resemblance to Lion-O in the main character.

Software City in Wolverhampton was where I used to buy all my early games when I first got my Spectrum +2 on Christmas 86. It lasted until the mid 90s trying to expand out into card games before it closed down for good due to larger stores like Game and Electronics Boutique.

I didn’t know you’re from Dudley! That’s cool 😁. I miss the days of wandering into my local games store, Software City in Wolverhampton was my main store during the Speccy days. Checking out the cool cassette artwork to base my entire decision on what to buy 😆

One of my friends worked on the backgrounds of the ZX Spectrum version after school for Pennsoft, the small team based in my home town, Penn, Wolverhampton. I could never get the hang of the game myself but I always thought it looked cool 😀

I used to play a game like this in my late teens, drop acid or shrooms then use a small torch to draw light pattern trails in the air while tripping my noodle off! It was fun 😂

I saw Flash Gordon at my parents works social club we used to goto in the early 80s. So many parts freaked me out like the Blue Peter guy (Peter Duncan) getting his hand stung by the tree creature and dying or when Flash Gordon fought Prince Barin on the tilting platform with spikes. 🫣

The league tables were fun for me at first, along with the streak feature but after a while they started to suck the fun out of learning. Now I just use Duolingo for fun between my usual Comprehensible Input approach to Spanish and find it much more fun.

The Amiga version of The New Zealand Story had 2 cheat codes depending if the version you had. On the title to get infinite lives you either had to type FLUFFYKIWIS or MOTHERFUCKENKIWIBASTARD 🫣

My friends and I played the hell out of Laser Squad and Chaos on the ZX Spectrum back in the day. As soon as I bought my Amiga I had to get Laser Squad again but not long after that UFO Enemy Unknown came out which became out next Julian Gollop obsession.

I still have mine. I couldn’t wait for the UK pal version so bought the imported the Japanese console instead. I’ve only just shipped it over here to the US a few months ago because my mom was going to donate it 🫣.

Yeah, the fact that Terry P loves his Poons, or play on words make me think some of the gags in Spanish wouldn’t hit the same way as English 😂

I’m studying Spanish and keep getting told to read Harry Potter because it’s supposed to be pretty easy to read. I’d prefer to read some Discworld novels again but I have a feeling those would be hard as nails in Spanish 😬

I’m still playing Fallout 4 VR heavily modded and to be honest, it’s so oppressive playing in VR I’ll probably never finish it 😩
