Hahahah amazing. So it is. Your response popped up isolated on my feed, so I insta-reposted. Didn’t see it attached to a thread.

“OMG you don’t LOOK autistic”

Watch me try to interact with a human pretending to be an animated character at Disney World and reconsider

My wife called this “impatiently waiting for the social script to load”

Help us understand what mental health professionals think about autism registries by participating in our short survey!

Participation is limited to those 18+ who are mental health professionals (broadly defined)/trainees in mental health fields.

Just a little bit of light course prep. There is no substantive science that suggests there is an "autism epidemic" nor is there any to suggest that autism is solely linked to environmental etiologies.

Adidas changed my safe shoe. As an autistic, it can be difficult to find clothes that feel “right.” I wear the same shoes most days: Adidas Dailies. They’ve changed over the years, but not significantly. From v.2.0 to 3.0 was manageable. 3.0 (left) to 4.0 (right) is unwearable for me.

Can confirm that @scalzi.com speaks fluent feline, evidenced by how he dedicated this book to my cat.

Just a couple of autistic autism researchers’ commentary on this article and the disingenuous nature of some of the arguments.

Your weekly reminder that vaccines don’t cause autism and the physician who purported so lost his license to practice medicine, had his research redacted, failed to escape into obscurity by moving to Texas from the UK, and is now a right-wing vaccine denier.

Interested in the intersection of queerness and religion? Check out our new (free!) publication in Sexes, where we quantitatively and qualitatively explore how strength of faith and marginalization experiences impact mental health and life satisfaction in queer people.

I encourage all professors to go back and read their own writing from their first-year of undergrad. This is some of mine from 12 years ago. It’s…not good. But I got better! Remind yourself where you came from and don’t judge students on your current abilities.

My lab just started the second stage of our project exploring the training experiences of autistic mental health professionals and impact on burnout and wellness. This stage is entirely interview-based. If you know anyone who fits the criteria, please send them our way 🙂
