Absolutely reasonable point of view, personally with undefined I have more the feeling of having made a mistake in accessing the property. It might be a heritage of SQL to want to see attributes when listing items

That's just my two cents.. when I got this error, most of the time it was a bug or a weak input validation; I almost always add a check upstream and set empty values to NULL with the idea that "undefined" is not a value accepted by DynamoDB. I read that more like "are you sure that's right?"

This was born as an experiment, now I use it every day and I wouldn't do without it anymore. I don't remember what SSH is anymore 😁
