Writer, artist, technologist. Wrote a novel called Children of Vale, working on a second. I think a lot about UI/UX and web development, sometimes out loud. Also puns. Deep thoughts with no context.
Diebenkorn is such an underrated artist imo. You can almost see the moment where he collapses the heavily abstracted 3d space into just line, geometric intensity, and color fields.

Also it brought to mind Diebenkorn's still life studies, which prefigured the Ocean Park abstract minimalism.

It's like Hopper was landing on the same compositional rules.

There's a lot going on right now but I am quite thrilled to get this book (Human Nature by Kate Marvel). Heard about it on a podcast (A Matter Of Degrees) and bought it on a whim.

Will report back as I crack it. Have some others I'm still working through first. #TBR #amreading #climate

My sewing project is complete!
Done on a 1950's vintage Singer.
Made of various garments I wore to pieces over the years.

"But dad, why are you taking apart your favorite garments just to put them back together again?"

Felt cute, went to Worldcon, bought some books, traded some others, and found this guy staring back at me

Aside from the Oracle of Delphi being a fascinating institution of the Ancient Greek world, what's more fascinating is that it was real, insofar as there were natural causes for the spooky interactions.

Apparently a lot of ancient mysteries were like that.

Walked into a furry bar and there was a film I hadn't before seen playing, "Nimona"

I only saw the ending but absolutely loved it

I'm pretty sure you'd appreciate this lost wax cicada cast in silver my mother did from one of those 17-year cycle broods.

Based on your bio and comment, thought you'd find it at least interesting! While we're talking about metal bugs 😆

Now let me tell you about my favorite unintentionally hilarious fruit: finger limes.

Imagine a lime—a really, really tart one—but peanut shaped. When you squeeze it, the little citrus corpuscles come out like tiny bubbles of tartness.

They're sometimes used as a substitute for fish roe on sushi.
