It’s just so much easier to get your populace to focus on the failures and shortcomings of other nations to build national pride than it is to actually fix those shortcomings of your own nation..

We also focus a lot on the history that took place directly under the US (eg slavery in the south) but there is also history on the land that is now in the US but was once under other govts, or conflicts that were unique to those regions that might have missed national attention and is still felt

Back in the box I go...

But yes.. it is not something any living person should ever consume
