The recent events with F5 could theoretically be related. Someone (or someones) might be trying to take advantage and find holes before everyone can get patched up.

Bummer. Guess I overlooked the sanity bit.
And while Chaosium doesn't own Cthulhu, I guess dancing around their stuff would be a bit messy.

The original literary works being public domain and BRP being released under ORC gives some good room for careful creativity.

Hot Take: The second half of Dracula and Seward's character arc would dramatically benefited from a dead Van Helsing around the same time everyone else's parent or mentor died.
Especially if Van Helsing's first vampire had gotten the better of him.

A Vampire Upstairs has a lot of my attention right now.
I'm rereading old vampire fiction as part of the effort to get the juices flowing and digging into non-fiction about the roles and lives of victorian-era servants.

A Vampire Upstairs is the story of a group of servants who must deal with a vampire hiding among a number of high-society eccentrics, preying on the help.
The Goblins are Revolting is a story of a goblin labor uprising.
I may still stick to the original UNHeroic idea and add a werewolf hunt story

Good HR interactions are like good IT experiences. They're non-experiences that don't become stories.

Reading through this, I do want to clarify that Dogs with Jobs is an already-published game you can buy RIGHT NOW rather than a work in progress.

Watching the original material that led to a hit is best done with the understanding that they learned a few lessons along the way.

I tried writing a death mechanic like this for of Cogs and Monsters and I clearly failed because I kept making it too complicated.
I'm a little jealous that you managed a way that is just so friggin' clean.

You need enough to break up your walls of texts and piles of paragraphs.
(Meaningful) sidebars and scene description blocking might accomplish this a bit as well
Obviously, a good background goes far.
Maybe "Commission bespoke art to replace stock" could be a stretch goal (or goals) for funding.

I need to get more of it in a cohesive state, but I'd be happy to have the chance to tell more people about the four worlds in the as-of-yet unnamed universe supporting of Cogs and Monsters.
Most of my worldbuilding posts are on reddit, but there's a blurb on the worlds on the front of d5games.net

*"the answer"
"this answer" suggests I'm critiquing something above.
Sorry for any confusion. I'd correct that if Bluesky let me.

I can't speak for others' processes, but the unbidden truly freeform stuff that just secretes from my brain often feels shallow and uninspired until I force it into shape around historical and literary inspiration or add walls to restrict its flow.
That metaphor might be a bit too fun.

I find this answer to this complicated. Taken literally, there's more freedom in creating from scratch.
But I find that drawing boxes and limiting my creative freedom by anchoring to historical inspiration forces me to make things richer and more grounded, as well as better researched.

They fade into the background as much as possible. If it's an all-hands-on-deck situation, another player takes control of their actions.
Custodial players can't spend permanently-lost resources or take undo risks with the character.
