Visited the BART Silicon Valley Phase II West Portal this morning. Crews are hard at work preparing to tunnel miles under San José—an incredible effort that will extend BART service from Berryessa through downtown to Santa Clara. Thanks to VTA, BART, and all involved

Yesterday, Second Harvest of Silicon Valley broke ground on a 215,000 sq ft facility in Alviso. This new complex will centralize operations and expand their ability to serve families across the region. Congrats to CEO Leslie Bacho, her team, volunteers, and donors on this milestone.

The crosswalk on Sierra Rd at Mauna Kea has been upgraded - with new bulbouts, bollards, fresh paint, upgraded signage, and enhanced lighting. Thank you to the San José Department of Transportation for making this intersection safer for everyone!

Today we honored Eloy Rodriguez, a 20-year driver for California Waste Solutions, for his courageous actions on May 23. When his truck caught fire in Nola Ranch, he safely steered it away from danger. His quick thinking protected lives and property—thank you, Eloy!

Yesterday I visited Ms. Berliner’s AP Government classes at Independence High School. It was a pleasure taking questions from students and discussing what we do at City Hall and how we’re addressing larger issues at the state and federal levels. The future is in good hands with the next generation.
