yes what happened seems unfair from an outside perspective, yes he probably has enough money for his family to pay for at home care, but also yes, it is perfectly understandable to take this sort of action.

i have had residents family members tell me that their slur-hurling parent never once acted like that prior to her alzheimer's, ive had families tell me that they don't want to admit their parent or grandparent, but their home is no longer a safe place because they managed to get out and almost got

and dementia diagnoses and as someone who has worked for nearly 10 years in a nursing home with (and works on) a dementia/memory care unit, this may be the safest option for the willis family.
not a single one of us knows how his diagnosis has affected not just his memory, but his behavior as well.
