There are loads of examples of this exact scenario, the shooting of Daniel Shaver comes to mind. There would be fewer of these incidents if law enforcement were held accountable.

I'm not seeing a huge gap, in terms of doomerism, between what the two of you posted. Why would you block them for chiming in?

Oh what a fun little story about that quirky little country we keep threatening to mow over!

Happy FujiNet user and firmware hack here, off in my own corner as you say. Discord as the social hub makes it kind of difficult for casual scene involvement. I'm not sure where else folks congregate. I do think you have a potential billboard onto every FujiNet user's machine for calls to action :-)

I think the main problem is that the "illegal orders" scenario typically envisioned is one where a lower-ranking officer or enlisted gives an illegal order in the field. It would be very difficult and courageous for rank and file to challenge an order coming from the top.

He’s the leader of the US’s conservative party. He basically runs CPAC. And he’s definitely not liberal in any sense of the word.

Maybe. But Democrats need to do something to convince themselves that they are better at handling money than Republicans are - because many of their own members don't even know it.
November 19, 2025 at 3:58 PM
We're talking fiscal responsibility here, which involves balancing income and responsibilities. So yeah. But to your point, I wish Democrats would frame that in terms of ROI - yes they are higher but the results are demonstrably better. Better GDP, CPI, less debt.
November 19, 2025 at 3:49 PM
It holds true even when you account for balance of power with the House and Senate. Democratic majorities have slightly better numbers for inflation, GDP, and debt, yet in my experience Democrats just seem to cede the point on fiscal responsibility. Baffling.
November 19, 2025 at 3:26 PM
I'm not saying Democrats are either, but by the numbers they are slightly better.
November 19, 2025 at 2:39 PM
The biggest myth in our lifetime is that Republicans are fiscally responsible. How that become conventional wisdom is beyond me, the numbers absolutely do not support it.

This was always a pig in a poke meanwhile there are agents in masks zip tying children and disappearing people and we can’t seem to be outraged about that?

18yo me knew he was voting for Ross Perot for some reason.
November 15, 2025 at 12:54 AM
The bad news is that if "I lean Libertarian" republicans can rationalize away masked federal agents shipped in from out of state disappearing people and zip tying children they won't even blink at whatever is in the Epstein files.
