In the environmental sector this ruling has been incredibly disruptive, mostly due to the suddenness of it and lack of direction for how to proceed. When dealing with time-sensitive projects and deadlines, it creates quite the mess.

I completely agree. I'm no expert in this arena, but I do wonder if the court ruling could have been communicated in a manner than prevented this misinformation? This kind of conflict, including the response of BC Conservatives, could have easily been predicted.
