I absolutely agree that getting off x is not the fix to the problem, but at least those of us not on x are not adding fuel to the fire.

A great Canadian word - enshittification! Perfectly describing what’s going on down there!

Presumably that’s car driving lanes that cannot be removed, not car parking? Take away the car parking and there’s lots of space for bike lanes

Why do we have this obsession with next day deliveries, especially when 90% of it is cheap tat that we really do not need?

Surely if ever there was a time to “stand your ground” it’s when you’re being approached by an unidentified masked person?

It’s happened in St Thomas. Reconstruction (of 1.5km) was supposed to take a street from 4 lanes to 3 (1 each way and a turning lane) with bike lanes. Bear in mind, to the south it’s two lanes with painted bike lanes, to the north two lanes, so really nothing would be lost, but it’s not happening.

We are in desperate need of electoral reform! Parties working together for the benefit of all Canadians, all getting some say in the business of government. The US, where 50% of voters are always pissed off is the most extreme example, but we’re heading that way with all the rage farming.

While my inclination is the same as you, it is true that we elect our local representative, not the party. We need electoral reform!

If I never hear his voice again it’ll be too soon!

The U-turn on electoral reform was the worst thing for me. Having all parties involved in government because of proportional representation would have been so much better.

That the orange blob was elected once was incomprehensible, twice is beyond the pale. And yet the establishment Democrats were unable to counter his rise? Moribund is the appropriate description for the entire electoral system.

I think it’s a Ford, F350 or 450. Pick ups and large SUVs have become absurdly large, with very tall flat front grilles. Manufacturers here have safety exemptions for “light trucks” compared to cars, which puts others at risk, but they are a huge profit maker………

Thanks for the link to the comments on the bill. I’d recommend writing your comments then copy and post, the site is clunky and dropped my post a couple of times. Or maybe it shuts you down when it detects too many “idiotic”, “nonsensical”, “boneheaded” and “YOUR OWN DATA” comments.

Ah, but he’s got decades of petty grievances to settle. Why on earth do we keep voting against our own best interests?

You’re absolutely correct, all new buildings, especially commercial should be required to have solar roofs. We should be providing grants for retrofitting existing buildings where possible. Car parks should be roofed with solar. Just not good agricultural land please!

The absurdity of the original essay is beyond reason! How on earth does anyone rationalise that notion and publicly put their name to it? For the most part women are far better at running organisations with concern for all involved, not just their ego and wallet.
