Yes as long as the rest of the field were driving slower tractors & his teammate was sworn to being the number 2 driver who will not challenge him.

Damage found after Verstappen had been touching that exact part in parc ferme.

Hadjar is under investigation for an unsafe realease (it states car 6), Max is there as the driver that was affected to give his side of the incident.

FIA have agreed MV can run the race first at 1pm without the other drivers. At 3pm the rest of the field will race as normal, competing for 2nd place after MVs "remarkable" win.

Potential for merc to look more competitive than they actually will be, due to their predisposition to perform better in colder conditions.
February 20, 2025 at 11:11 AM
Ah, so you mean Stroll being replaced as a driver then.
January 24, 2025 at 7:50 AM
This statement shows Marko's worried then.

A few questonable things about this announcement. The top on my list are...

1. Why so extreme a penalty for such a minor infraction.
2. Why the timing of this announcement? Coinciding with the start of Hamilton's Ferrari.

Also nice to see Max's has an asterisk

Likely to only be a real option once Verstappen leaves.

That said though, the quotes are from Jordan so anything else on the site or in the article can be disregarded and it's still Jordan's own words.

Also, resorted to dirty & dangerous moves when fighting. And the more at stake the more frequent and dirtier the moves.

Maybe he's referring to his own race in F2?? (DNF)
December 20, 2024 at 6:53 AM
His choices were: leave with payout & nice RB statements, or get kicked out, no payout, and dragged through the dirt in the media.
December 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM
That comment would have more truth to it if he were talking about their ages.

The complaint is more that others are penalised, often more harshly & for less severe actions, whereas Max is given nothing or soft, insignificant penalties for clear infringements. Often with FIA making excuses on his behalf or claiming it was a "mistake", but for others "rules are rules".

It's like a toddler with a machine gun, and now they've given him a bump stock.
December 14, 2024 at 10:30 AM
It died with Charlie Whiting. Rules & integrity were increasingly eroded from then. Merc/LH kept it alive by performing on track despite efforts to stop them. But merc didn't fight the off track antics, leading to AD21 where the whole WDC was awarded by a referee breaking rules.
December 13, 2024 at 6:30 AM
Ironic to complain about the consistency of rulings, as Max would probably be starting 2025 with a ban had they actually penalised him properly this year. He had a few ignored and a few 2-for-1s where he'd make multiple infringements and get the penalty of 1.
December 12, 2024 at 7:53 PM
It feels more like merc were treating him as already gone, so doing what was in their interests for next year, using LH to experiment with volatile setups while maintaining a stable platform for GR. This allowed them to do in race testing, knock LHs confidence going to a competitor & bolster GRs.

So is this a precedent of accepted unsportsmanlike behaviour set by the WDC who is supposed to be a role model for the sport? Or is this accountability only levelled at other drivers?
December 11, 2024 at 7:21 AM
This is Red Bulls approach to media and rules.
December 10, 2024 at 7:43 AM
Waiting for the penalties for unsportsmanlike behaviour, especially when there's the "role model" tax that should also be applied.
December 8, 2024 at 4:29 PM
Max will need to adapt the style he was taught growing up, as will need to learn how to hit men.
December 7, 2024 at 10:55 AM
More off track shenanigans to make a show, in lieu of resulting in actual fair racing on track.
