Scientists identified an unusual type of brain cell which may play a key role in progressive multiple sclerosis, likely contributing to the persistent inflammation that characterizes MS.

The discovery opens a promising path toward developing effective therapies for this neurodegenerative disorder.

Petr Vodička from @uchpavcr.bsky.social, together with colleagues from Japan and Canada, authored a study that reveals that carbonate carbon makes up to 65% of Arctic aerosol carbon in some episodes – mainly from limestone dust and marine sources.

🏞️ The invasive black bullhead catfish (Ameiurus melas) is a serious threat to aquatic ecosystems and native fish in the Czech Republic and its presence needs to be carefully monitored and culled.
