Episode 19 - After Japan Cup. Every time the Kasamatsu gang show up to give Oguri Cap a mood boost, it's a great time. At first I thought the prologue arc was too long and now I feel like it wasn't long enough. This episode had so many screenshot worthy scenes so narrowing it down to 4 was tough.

Episode 18 - Japan Cup (Part 2). An exciting finish to the 1988 Japan Cup. Apparently, everyone is an aura farmer if you enter international races. We're getting close to one of my favorite chapters in the manga and I can't wait to see it animated. It's such a heartwarming scene.

Episode 17 - Japan Cup (Part 1). I don't know if I like Obey Your Master's portrayal in the anime vs the manga. I find the character more sympathetic in the manga while she feels more villainess in the anime. The American Uma Musume portrayals seem a bit over the top but not unusual for anime.

Episode 16 - International racers. I love interactions between side characters and I love how Gold City and Ellerslie Pride share time in the manga. I can't remember if it was the '88 or '89 JC where it happens but it'll be nice to see in the anime (I hope).

I'm always happy to be surprised by a show I wasn't intending to watch. The only reason I started watching "May I Ask for One Final Thing?" was because I'd heard about it on my socials. And the first two episodes didn't disappoint.

Episode 15 - Kikuka Sho. Despite all the Super Creek memes from the game, I really like the Cingray version of her character the most. She has a great story with her trainer Fumino Nase and she even gets to play the villain instead of the goo-goo babies version of herself from the game.

Episode 14 - I love that they started Part 2 off with the one shot "The Mermaid Left Behind" story. Fujimasa March completed the rivals-to-friends arc perfectly. I love when the Kasamatsu gang show up in the manga and anime. Part 2 is only 10 eps so looks like it will end at the '88 Arima Kinen.

Decided to throw 10 saved up tickets at the current banner on JP Uma Musume because Hishi Akebono is a fun character. I already have her original character and she's a fun and wholesome gal. The game rewarded me with her new alt on draw #9 so I've used up my luck for the next 3 months.

It took 6 episodes before LoveGreen finally showed up. I thought he was just a joke character in the manga but grew to appreciate him over time. I thought the VA did a great job of expressing how I imagined he would sound.

Episode 13 - The Strongest in Japan. I have to say that they planned out the first cour really well. Ending on the Tenno Sho was a good stopping point, especially for what happens in the next part of the White Lightning arc. Cour 2 already set to release in October!

It's funny how they posted this in the Japanese game news site but not the English site (yet). I was worried my C drive was gonna get filled up because I wasn't expecting the game files to be installed there instead of where I asked it to install. Global launch hasn't been smooth so far.

Me rerolling accounts on global release before finally settling on an account. I told myself global would be just casual and fun so there was no reason for me to go hardcore on rerolling and yet... Day 1 Uma Musume without 4 years of QoL features is rough for those that play the JP version lol

One of my favorite parts of the manga are the doodles by the artist that are included. I don't actually know if they're part of the official releases or if they're added in the releases I'm reading. They make for great memes.

Episode 12 - Tenno Sho. The Tamamo Cross rivalry is my favorite from the story. I like how they created a story where her and Oguri indirectly have been rivals since childhood and how they each pushed each other to be the best. It really is a great story arc.

Episode 11 - Mainichi Okan. Just a step towards the battle with Tamamo Cross at the autumn Tenno Sho. With two more episodes to go, it feels like the Tenno Sho will be the end of Cour 1. I don't quite remember all the chapters from the manga at this point.

One of the things that makes Cinderella Gray fun are all the easter eggs they put into the show. For instance, this is "Akitsu Teio" based on "Nippo Teio" who is the father of our most precious UMA, Haru Urara. Thanks to all the horse racing otakus for pointing out these easter eggs.

Episode 10 - White Lightning. A great story arc from the manga and I'm excited to see it adapted. When the hero learns what it takes to become the hero. I hope they take their time on this chapter as the Central prelude chapter felt rushed. I feel like they want to do the whole manga in 26 episodes.

Happy to see that all four chicks have made it to fledging. The stronger ones have started to perch on the balcony ledge in anticipation for their first flight. It won't be long before the nest is empty and there won't be anything to watch on the camera feed.

Episode 9 - Japan Derby. The way they did the race in the manga was beautiful. Thus, I knew what was coming during this episode but since it was animated, it hit differently. I didn't expect the first chapter to end so quickly. I thought White Lightning would be Cour 2 but now it's starting Sunday!

Episode 8. One part of why I like Uma Musume is finding out scenes/events in the game or anime actually happened in real life. The Japan Derby in this arc is one of those events. It seems like they are going faster than I expected and the White Lightning arc might start before the end of Cour 1?

Belno Light has been growing on me through both the anime & in the manga. She's a story construct and not a real horse but I'd like for CyGames to find a way to add her into the game, probably as a support card. The training scenarios have made up characters so a Belno scenario would be fun.

Episode 7. I miss the Kasamasu crew already. But we move on to more familiar characters from the game including one of my faves, "Mama" Super Creek. Back to Oguri being a new student again and a nice light episode after last week's emotional episode. I hope we don't have to wait long for Cour 2.

The chicks have gone from small puffs of feathers to healthy looking chicks. The runt might make it to fledging! They've grown so much now that both parents have to feed them to keep up with how much food they need. Won't be long before they start building strength to fly.

Episode 6. I'm not crying, you're crying.

The writers know how to use the emotional beats of a sports story and that was true for the end of the Kasamatsu arc. Honestly can't wait for the soundtrack because the Winning Live songs have been fantastic in this arc. Now it's time for Nationals!

"Catch Me at the Ballpark" is becoming one of my favorites this season because it makes me miss going to MLB games. I haven't been to one in a very long time and this show makes me curious about what it's like to go to an NPB game.
