But you're not alone and things will get better, I cannot say when and I cannot say how but as long as you're alive things can always get better.

And if you're a trans person reading this, I know the world is rough, seeing yourself in the mirror or even just thinking about your body may bring you depression and dysphoria beyond understanding.

At the end of the day we're in this together and we can decide the change we want to see in this world.

So, if you know a trans person, please tell them how much you care about them, if you see someone struggling try to reach out a hand and if you're in a position to do so please donate to trans nonprofits.

I do not know if it's naivete or simple optimism but I trust that most of the hate comes from a place of misunderstanding and a general fear for the future and that's something we can all understand.

But although all I've said so far is true I don't believe this world is inherently evil, there are those that seek to profit from our suffering and don't see us as living beings but that's the minority.

Trans people everywhere are fighting to stay alive, be it because they'd be killed or raped if someone where to find out about them or that discrimination in law or outside of it keeps us from finding jobs and places to live, every day is a battle and some of us don't make it.

We've also seen an increase in rhetoric specifically targeting us as we're easy targets for hatred and mistrust since our struggles are impossible to understand unless you experience it yourself.

There are also the issue of nations where trans people are killed for just existing or those that don't investigate hate crimes against trans people.

And some nations that are supposedly trans friendly don't do enough to teach the public of our struggles or try to find ways to assist us further in some of the most difficult times in our lives.

The current state of the world is better than it was a decade or two ago but it's still nowhere near enough, there are nations that say trans people can live there without fear but make access to gender affirming care prohibitively difficult to access.
