I only had a couple of seconds to snap a quick photo of this adorable little pine marten in Glacier National Park recently and of course, I had to paint him. He's such a vicious predator. Cute little Killah!

I only had a couple of seconds to snap a quick photo of this adorable little pine marten in Glacier National Park recently and of course, I had to paint him. He's such a vicious predator. Cute little Killah!

Painting on yupo paper is like herding cats. It is a flat, non-absorbent, waterproof surface. This is a small 3 1/2" X 5 1/2" study of Cosley Lake in Glacier National Park near the Mokowanis River Valley.

Went for a blustery hike up to Granite Park Chalet today in Glacier National Park and on the way down watched this raven (?) soaring in the wind and then just stall out like a drone. No wing flapping necessary. So fascinating!

I call this painting "Standing Out From The Crowd" because a giraffe symbolizes uniqueness & individuality since their spots are distinctly patterned like a fingerprint. The light & shadow on this gal were also unique with the sun above & a little behind her head casting a shadow across her snout.

This is a farm in the Flathead valley of beautiful Northwest Montana where I live. I’m a bit rusty after my trip hiking in Grand Canyon, death Valley, and Pinnacles National Parks. Can’t wait to paint some of those scenes!

We stayed with some family recently who have 2 Maine Coon cats. This one is Max. He gets his hair cut like a lion with a furry mane, tail and lower legs because his fur tends to get matted.

We stayed with some family recently who have 2 Maine Coon cats. This one is Max. He gets his hair cut like a lion with a furry mane, tail and lower legs because his fur tends to get matted.

I’ve been busy painting, thank you and birthday cards over the last week or so. This one I painted from a photograph of a Caribbean flamingo that I took while I was in Florida last month. It is for a member of the Montana Watercolor Society from Ohio, who requested a penpal. I hope she “paints”back!
