The stone on the left is granite, gifted from a friend here in Kentucky. The one on the right is Kansas limestone from Milford Lake.

The piece on the left is some river rock...granite, I believe. A friend gave it to me. I'm assuming it's local. The piece on the right is limestone from Milford Lake, outside of Manhattan, Kansas. I grew up in Kansas and lived in several different areas.

That's a good question. There's a lot of red clay in thus area and silt. In fact our downtown area is built on site up to the old river Bank several blocks to the south. When I was more mobile, I would collect funky drift wood.
