For Arashi it is patience and understanding. Having the patience to give time for one another to be seen fully and accepted for it. Understanding for life’s ebbs and flows, and the willingness to adapt to whatever may come and to stand by each other through it.

Oddly enough, Arashi was inspired by Ghibli. Loving him and being in his presence as a loved one feels like the timeless slow quiet and nostalgia of Miyazaki’s films, especially the ones in rural settings. And like many of the films, he can appear frightening, but there are layers beneath.

It’s hard to capture in the game and I wish I was better at drawing them, but Arashi’s hands tell a story of his history, his being. Hardened and calloused from his years as a sailor, fisherman, and mechanic. Scarred from taming his power to keep those around him safe.

In the top panel Lock raises a brow and asks Jón “What?” with an exasperated and annoyed expression. In the bottom panel Jón looks at him seductively and says with a grin “Nothing. I just enjoy looking at you.” In the top panel, Lock’s expression briefly turns to softened surprise with a note of exclamation beside him.
