just finished 'how to murder your life: a memoir' by cat marnell and it is frankly obscene to me how rich addiction stories are "wicked funny, dark and glamorous" and poor addiction stories are "cautionary tales" or just straight misery porn.

one of my problems in life is that i won't suffer through sub-optimal working conditions if a solution exists. i find this very distracting.
