Mario Kart World really decided to be the first $80 video game and then got absolutely wrecked by the competition twice in just a couple months, both by Sonic and *checks notes* Kirby, the third major Switch 2 exclusive.

Should have posted this yesterday but oh well here it is. I got my first package from the @tenebrouspress.bsky.social book club recently and I'm so giddy about it! You can still sign up and pre-purchase all of their weird horror releases for the year and get goodies like in the pic and a t-shirt!

Lovely picture I took in Wisconsin Dells yesterday before a very long road trip back home.

Dunno how realistic this sound the Hatzegopteryx makes in Path of Titans is but the more I see of these critters the more I'm convinced some pterosaurs are some of the best fits for horror nature has come up with.

Lost World is really solid, and I'm really not sure how they could have ever truly beaten out the first film. Both the wow factor being kind of lightning in a bottle and also just, you can't really beat the big theme park getting shut down in a big storm letting the dinosaurs out concept. (1/3)

Rewatched A Series of Unfortunate Events for the first time in a very long time and it's pretty damn good. They did a great job despite crunching three books to one film, the tone and style is great. The score amazing. The rearranged ending was smart. Faithful to the spirit of the books. Recommended

This has only further cemented the Stegosaurus as my favorite dinosaur.

My brain has decided it wants dinosaurs so this just came in the mail. I may have two other books coming as well.

Opened up my childhood copy of Jurassic Park and found this old bookmark sitting in it, I think this was from around fourth to sixth grade. #booksky

I'm 250 pages in, this book is incredible so far. It's such a great introduction to the new era, characters are great, politics interesting, and the writing is beautiful. If I ever were to write Star Wars I'd want to describe the force even half as beautifully as this book does.

Beat my first two games of the year and also my first ever finished Sonic games, Sonic Generations and Shadow Generations. Sonic was okay, enjoyable enough. Shadow Generations though? Holy shit what a game, everything SG did well Shadow did 2x better at least. I actually loved it!

Alex White mentions (correctly) in this article about Rogue Incursion that Alien is a punk setting, I'm wondering if "Analog Punk" would be appropriate.

Mail arrivals today, Blade Runner and Godzilla x Kong were my only two Black Friday bluray pick-ups this year and Romulus just released. Very excited to dig into all of them! I haven't seen Blade Runner in years or the Final Cut, missed Godzilla in the theater and Alien Romulus is Alien Romulus.

I hate that the non-4k version of Alien: Romulus has a nicer cover.

Something that's not horror! Titanic (1997) is a fucking incredible film, has been a favorite ever since I was little admiring the ship and I've only appreciated it more as a whole since. The love story is sweet and I still can't get over the ship holy shit. This sparked my obsession with Titanic.

Oh yeah forgot I did this.

[REC] (2007) My second favorite found footage film behind only The Borderlands/Final Prayer. I'm not a big zombie movie fan but this is so well made and really makes you feel the claustrophobic terror of being trapped in a building with them and nothing to defend yourself
