criticism cannot be that the tech needs to be more reliable or egalitarian or faster or convenient or cheaper. all of those things make fascism more palateable, which is bad, actually

I actually predict Gen Z will go wild for this stuff. shopping for stuff that works and lasts? in luxurious privacy? no subscription required?
I'm not imagining here some faux vintage or yesteryear nostalgia vibe. no homesteading handicrafting tradwife & axe-throwing aesthetic. just analog now.

Multiple mainstream news outlets have confirmed this video, and this event, are real. Her name is Dayanne Figueroa. Updating your article to reflect outcome would be important. Your investigation was good & I think people should know we are in a murky area where we can be tricked in either direction

this means until they are somehow defunded & dismantled they will terrorize random people walking or driving or working in a desperate effort to make quotas, with maximum force, untouchable bc federal qualified immunity. there is transnational organized crime, of course, but they too are untouchable

I think some of their honchos and new recruits still believe they're going to find the elusive bad guys. But the higher-ups and spokespeople know; that's why they over-inflate traffic tickets or a teenage shoplifting record, and why all undocumented people are called "criminal."

that capability already exists; it's just a matter of combining the databases and the scrimmage for the contracts. courts will still be litigating what constitutes curtilage while carceral-surveillance tech obviates the 4th Amendment

what gets me, over an over, is they are conducting, essentially, felony traffic stops. and there seem to be no use of force restrictions. there are clear 4th amendment violations, including hands-on and handcuffing. ICE and Border Patrol are obliterating the 4th Amendment & DHS sees no problem.
