Sorry for the rant, it's just I see so many people advertise new systems to try over D&D and I wanna branch out, I have a bit, I've run and played in CoC games and I've been looking at some mobile compendium apps but~

~But I haven't found any free material besides some pre-built characters. On top of that there's how I can share with my group. We're a completely online group so it's not like we can share one copy of the book. I know there's PDFs available but if the companies wanted 6+ people to share one pdf~

~does and I don't wanna pirate from smaller creators to get access to anything more than the bare minimum. But at the same time most core books are usually $40+ and I don't wanna feel like I wasted money if my group doesn't like the new system. Like we wanna try the new ALIENS and Fallout ttrpgs~

~We try to branch out, it's either not enough of us have an interest in trying it, or during character creation we figure we're already not gonna like how it plays.

The third and really final hurdle is costs. I know a few systems have something that has the basic rules for free but not every one~

~Another reason is finding people to play with. I'm not the best when it comes to meeting new people, I'm nervous around new people and feel like I'd just clam up, and I have in the few times I've tried to join new games. And while the group I'm in has said they'd like to do new systems every time~

~Class system building a mage in Skyrim, a stealthy thief in Fallout, etc. I know that you can still do this in other systems but it's daunting to try and learn a system of play as well as how to build and plot out a character if you're not familiar with lore or how things synergize.~
