The report correctly highlights that:
The Department gave evidence to Stormont that it's annual spend in 2022-23 was £13.3 million.
Since then it has “reconsidered how it had been interpreting what expenditure” and now claims to spend ~£50M per year.

Worth mentioning - you can’t own a car in Japan unless you have a certificate (Shako Shomeisho) proving you have a designated parking space.

You can’t store your car on a public street/street.

Bicycle Strategy for NI is 10 yrs old.
They set themselves ambitious 10 year targets. We should have seen noticeable progress in those 10 years.
• How have the Department been doing?
• Have they hit any of their targets?

4. Finally – an opportunity tell the public about the Cycle to Work scheme that many employers have in plaace and how cost effective it is to obtain an bike like this through the scheme.
Also – where the public can try it out for themselves before they committ.

3. There was an opportunity to talk about the lack of cycle infrastructure, and reassure people that more was in the pipeline.
Also – the public need to know information about what bikes can go on what types of public transport – and at what times.

2. The videos focused on the benefits of a folding bike.
It didn't tell you how much the bike was or if you were allowed to take it on all public transport, or how you could afford such an expensive option..

@www.infrastructure-ni.gov.uk released videos before Christmas to try and coax more people out of their cars.
The original: fb.watch/x51sXU0zAc/
got close to 133,000 views. Reaction was almost all negative. The idea was good but the execution was poor.

Here’s a version that may have worked.

The #BlackPaths has no signage to help residents/visitors navigate the network. Almost all original signage from 60s-70s is gone.

Some of the original waymarking still exists in remote areas. They should be saved, renovated & new signage created to match.
