Cycling Fan, Suffering through the Nov-Dec Drought
I’ve used SBS in the past. The platform is pretty user friendly, it’s free, and I’m English speaking. Just watched the Aussie natty champs there

And the other two fastest times are his teammates 😳

If you are ceratizit sports director Fortunato Lacquaniti, how do you approach todays stage?

He’s nationality no doubt plays a role. But he also is a low to mid tier sprinter on a team flooded with them. He had minimal success at WT this year. Let him clean up on the Asian conti circuit and let him join the WT team for the pro races like langkawi

Black shoulder/neck vs orange shoulder/neck? Hard to be sure without the pics of the back.

I think from a helicopter view, only arkea and lotto are confusing. The distinct sleeves otherwise allow for quick recognition.

But I am not sure that valuation inherently holds true on NBA and NFL. There is an additional step: hire athletes who lead to championships which leads to visibility/$.

Instead it’s this nebulous how famous are you quantity that, without an open market, is impossible to know the value of. Pidcock was worth X to Glassenberg just like MvG was worth X to RBH. Impossible to know the relative value of these guys when the incentives are so out of whack.
December 16, 2024 at 1:27 PM
Right. I think famous guy on the team is the same whether it’s a billionaire owner or billionaire corporation owner. The motivation is the same. As long as sport is primarily business, athletes will not get paid on future (or past) success alone.

The reason why cycling’s finances are fucked up (apart from the lack of transparency) is that these are the same exact thing in cycling because of its reliance on corporate sponsors.

I disagree on theoretical terms. Being paid for future sporting success versus being paid for marketability are fundamentally different things.

I’m hearing this as “way to fuck up your recovery”
December 13, 2024 at 2:10 PM
I hear you. You do not need to say more. I’m listening to that tonight to solve my insomnia

Any childhood family rap battles? Are you saying no because you know how awful/amazing it would truly be? Hahahaha!

Didn’t Jumbo release a rap like 4-5 years ago? Time to bring back some singing cyclists.
