I used to always flat blacks in my comics and illustrations and I got away from that for the first few series of Knucklejelly to help meet my deadlines faster. I’m adding them back in these last two issues because these issues have a lot of gravitas and I want to draw like this again.

I heard that Mignola draws from reference in his sketchbook and then references his studies when drawing the final illustration to keep his backgrounds more rooted in his style. Here’s a bunch of rock formation studies I did hoping for the same result in Knucklejelly.

To uncover his past, Knucklejelly has to solve a mystery that might just get him killed—again. The Kickstarter to get all three issues of this miniseries ends in less than 2 days!

I created three connecting covers for The Beast of Neckbone City and the third one will finally be printed when my current Kickstarter campaign ends in 3 days! I can’t wait to see them all together!

This is where I was at in ‘93. Constant rotation. No skips. Lots of daydreaming.

Knucklejelly: The Beast of Neckbone City was selected by Kickstarter as a “Project We Love” and featured in their “This week's eye-catchers” newsletter! I’m extremely touched and grateful. I’m really proud of this book and hope these spotlights help more people experience this book.

Here are some rough concepts for some little goblin jerks that show up the 2nd issue of Molduna's Castle and end up being complete... jerks.

I spent the last few weeks mocking up and lettering the full next two issues of Knucklejelly. I'm now sketching both books so I have them nearly complete when I start finalizing art. These images don't look like much, but this stage of planning is often the hardest part of comic making.

Thanks algorithm... NONE of those are similar to Buckaroo Banzai.

Black Water Lillies (2022)

Very well done murder mystery. I loved the gorgeous art colored to be reminiscent of Monet's paintings and was completely sideswiped by the ending.

The story of a murdered man found near Claude Monet’s garden in the village of Giverny as experienced by three women.

The Fall Guy (2024)

How did this film not do better at the box office?
What a wonderfully enjoyable thrill ride. I freaking loved it.
I watched it on streaming and immediately purchased a copy to own.
I guess I’m a Ryan Gosling stan now.
