It was fantastic to see the Cirque du Troumouse road open again, after floods washed part of it away in Sept 2024. It was back open in time for the summer season, which was great for the local businesses and of course eager cyclists to experience this hidden gem climb!

If quiet, wild & remote is your thing...then Col des Spandelles is a must for you. Both sides are amazing but the west side has the edge for us because it feels a bit more 'sauvage'...our kinda climb! 😁

Col de Spandelles...despite its Tour de France and La Vuelta status, this climb still retains a hidden gem feel. 😍 Both sides are amazing but the west side has the edge for us...even though it's the tougher side. #nopainnogain 🥵😁

The dramatic Col d'Aubisque road in wintertime.

The balcony road from Soulor to the top of Aubisque closes over wintertime because of snow & avalanche danger and reopens mid to late May. But we can still admire this stunning mountain with its winter coat from the top of Soulor.

Saturday...time to switchback!

You'll get plenty of opportunities it do it on this hidden gem climb of Col des Tentes. It's a tough 11km climb from the village of Gavarnie, through a remote & rugged landscape up to the top at 2208m...higher than Tourmalet!

Ride our Aubisque west side loop route or some guests have done a double Aubisque, east & west side, in a day...extra porridge needed that day! 😋

The road to Lac d'Estaing...😍

It's about 16km from the Lodge to this beautiful glacial lake. If This is a perfect warmup ride. Or combine it with Lac du Tech, Col des Borderes and Col du Couraduque for grand tour of Val d'Azun! 😍

We love the hidden gem climb of Col du Couraduque.😍 You get a quiet road, sweeping switchbacks and stunning scenery all the way to the top. Plus, if your tyres are up for it, you can continue off road on pastoral tracks that take you to Soulor and Spandelles...something for every tyre! 😁
