A friendly techie fox. I work in IT and hang out with furry friends, locally and online.
Now even Google Chrome's "New Tab" Discover promotes misinformation! Can't even trust Google's recommendations. (There is no, as of this writing, a $2k stimulus from the IRS coming). Also that URL is sus.

Today I saw a shady way to trick you into tipping I'm at a counter service restaurant. Those greyed out options DO work, they just LOOK like they're disabled. #darkpatterns

I never thought I'd see "Sent from my iPhone" used in a professionally managed email campaign. It was tracking clicks thru smartlead.ai but had that classic auto-appended signature to help lower your guard. Don't let 'Sent from my pretentious self-advertising phone' ever make you less weary.

"Music Audio Editor, MP3 Cutter" by Developer: "Video Screen Recorder, Voice Audio Editor, Cut MP3",
but when installed, from the Play Store, is named "Super Sound" from "TianXingJian"

Latest company who's email infrastructure and trust are being used to bypass spam filters. An actual invoice from Intuit Quickbooks, used to perpetuate a scam.

Note: the document to sign was (of course) taken down by DocuSign, eventually, but not before their service was used to send out the scam on their behalf.

I feel like I'll use Bluesky to post cybersecurity discoveries in my everyday life, including scamming methods. Today I noticed a scam, leveraging the messaging system of DocuSign to send the message that gets thru your spam filter, because it's legitimately sent from DocuSign.

I find it interesting to observe the ways legitimate big corporations are leveraged to help spread scam, with no repercussions to them. From using Microsoft Teams invites, to Google Calendar Invites, to today's scam: using PayPal invoices. PayPal's "report invoice" link leads to the latter image.

Was working at an airport, long after no more flights were coming in and captured this liminal view of a place, often so busy, but now barren.
