Look into a game called "We Become What We Behold." It's a short little game about circles and squares and covers pretty much what you are discussing here.

And considering the price of current consoles and their games. I can get a GameCube and several decent games for way less than what I would spend on current gen. People just dont have the money for it and are spending it elsewhere.

From what I've been hearing people have been moving more towards retro gaming, mostly because the games just work. You dont need to worry about season passes, battle passes, microtransactions, and daily rewards. Just put a game i. And play.

The problem now is that the only limitation storage wise is our SSD's in consoles and PC's. Developers no longer need to be creative because those hard limitations are no longer a problem. And since people keep buying these over inflated games anyway, there's no incentive to optimize.
