This is very kind, but I do want to say that no candidate (or incumbent) ever “deserves” a seat.
If I’m in the House, I hope people run against me in the primary! Political candidates should have to prove that they’re the best person to represent the people.

I’m seeing the word used with much higher frequency since the election so, just throwing it out there, the word “moron” has an absolutely horrific racist, antisemitic, ableist backstory that includes forced sterilization and it’s worth considering removing it from your vocab.

If you ever see someone pushing a grocery cart with very little in it and you think to yourself “wow that’s lazy they could just carry that” consider that maybe they can’t. Cause not all disability is visible. And also why the fuck do you care? Why are you valuing strength or a display of ability?

this place is better than twitter in so ways but it does seem particularly prone to a specific kind of annoying behavior
when people vent about something, you do not need to offer them advice unless they ask for it
and you especially do not need to yell at them for being in that situation at all

Ok folks there’s a massive storm and flooding so regular reminder, if at all possible and you can avoid it, DO NOT PUT YOUR BODY IN FLOOD WATER.
Including these below there can also be open manholes that you can’t see and downed power lines.

Storm folks: Flood water is *toxic*. It has raw sewage, gasoline and transmission fluid, all kinds of chemicals (especially if it's near power plants or chemical storage facilities), it can even have medical waste and radiological waste. If possible, DO NOT put your body in flood water.

I know I repeat myself about how *disgusting* and toxic flood water is every time there’s a storm but inevitably videos circulate of people playing and swimming in it and we just absolutely have to counter any impression that flood water is safe.
