This is based on observation, not pure conjecture. And I don’t think it’s a new way of looking at things. I just wish more people would realize that they are doing these things and that their judgements are fallible.

Along with this, some people rely way too much on their own sense of what is right and wrong to judge other people and to try to restrict their behavior.

Generalization and categorization are useful tools. But they are just tools. They do not represent absolute truth in a world of nuance and imperfection.

Fourth, why is it that some people immediately jumped to the conclusion that the shooter of Charlie Kirk must have been from the left, when statistics suggested it wouldn’t be because those shooters are almost always far right?

First, there’s more to the US population than “left” and “right” and even within those groups there is a diversity of opinions. I see most “left” leaning posts saying things like “no one deserves to be shot.”

This year there were 22 donations totaling $936. Everything’s up from last year (including my mileage) when there were 16 donations totaling $711.
