They/Them, 31, art and games and music. Call me Millie!
Pretending to be a stickler for biology when you clearly haven't done any research beyond what they teach you in 4th grade makes the bit too obvious btw.

"extreme" and they're not talking about funding a genocide but electing a mayor who isn't a sexual predator

Like what the actual fuck is wrong with these women.

Oh my god, I dipped the smallest toe into this discourse and the entire THREADS full of the most venomous bodyshaming was heartbreaking. "We're not judging people who haven't medically transitioned as less trans! Also, look at this MAN body how can you be TRANS with a MAN body"

Sitting up there in your highchair, demanding more applesauce. You've already had enough applesauce, Spencer. There's plenty of apple sauce on your plate.

Oooh I have not played either! On a quick google of the first I see a lot of insanely cool and intimidating-looking UIs... I'll add it to the list :)

It's one of those games, like Half Life, that totally changed what I thought games could Be. I'll be forever disappointed there's no sequel 😭

It's so interesting to me to compare the design philosophy and story themes of Prey vs Bioshock Infinite. Estranged cousins entirely opposite in soul.

Versus... Bioshock Infinite. A game of about 4 false choices that literally don't matter, where the game is aggressively reinforcing the entire time that nothing you do will make any difference to the trajectory of the trainwreck, dangling things in from of you that you will never achieve.
November 17, 2025 at 11:51 PM
Every choice you made mattered because you made the choice. The choosing who to be, what to do, what you want to protect and how, is the important part.
November 17, 2025 at 11:50 PM
You know going in you're playing a game. In the end, nothing you do makes any actual difference to anything. But the act of making the decisions matters, even if the results were inconsequential. Prey was all about giving you CHOICE, in movement and combat and personality and morality...

People say the plot kind of goes downhill past that first section of the game where [REDACTED], but honestly that shitty ending everyone didn't like felt entirely tonally appropriate to me. "'(You) probably think... that nothing mattered" is such a huge line. Because it all mattered!

I wish I could forget it so I could play through again for the first time - but at least I feel it vicariously through my buddy!

I've never understood the point. Is the target supposed to be so homophobic that the implication that homophobia is gay shames them out of being phobic?

People also like to forget that Clinton won the popular vote. Like - if not for the EC she would have been president. The people were clearly ok electing a woman, had she been a different woman - she may have had the EC too.

These people should be embarrassed for themselves but still somehow muster up the nerve to talk down to us.
