Went to brunch with friends at Busboys and Poets yesterday. Browsed the bookshop and discussed the merits of "trashy" books, TV, and movies. Was a good day.

My dystopian flash appears in Writers Resist today. It was written after the election around the question plaguing me: What will it mean to be Black in Tr*ump's America? I hope you'll check it out.

Had a wonderful time at the @wwph.bsky.social 50th celebration/book launch for "America's Future"! Met contributor Congressman Jamie Raskin, too. Grab a copy. My solarpunk, "Fireflies and Dandelion Wine," appears in the anthology. A huge Thank You to prose editor @cabockwrites.bsky.social!

Finally, I have a shelf for all the anthologies containing my words. (Also, my one little book.)

The shelf's only half full. Must get writing.

Thrilled to share that I'll have a story included in the anthology, "AMERICA'S FUTURE: poetry and prose in response for tomorrow." Published by @wwph.bsky.social, and coming out in Sept. Get a load of the awesome cover!

Oh, and my story is a solarpunk tale set in a Washington, DC, of the future.

Wishing I could have a snow day and curl up in front of the fire with some hot chocolate. But it's all work and no play for me.

It's that time of year when I remind you that I made this thing. It's 10-minute-a-day guided journal. Helps you 1) define and set goals and 2) improve your mindset as you work toward those goals. Makes a great gift or get one for yourself for the new year!

My father used to pack my lunches when I was in elementary school. It was always a special treat when he packed an orange Hostess cupcake. So every now and then I buy them, and remember my daddy.

Got to have dinner with the awesome @taracampbell.bsky.social, and heard her read from her novel, The City of Dancing Gargoyles. Then the audience got to write about our own unlikely cities!

Rainy day at the book festival. Very few people braved the weather. Oh well. Met some great authors, though, so the day wasn't a complete wash.
