We are looking at a member of the federal government in a sputtering fury over people being informed of their constitutional rights. That should tell you all you need to know about this administration’s attitude toward the rule of law.

It really, truly is not. Basically every unsolved problem humanity faces - or has ever faced for that matter - requires monumental effort by lots of people working together. That’s how we do this, not waiting for a smart cow to figure it out

I don’t get it, this statement is literally untrue unless Biden directs the archivist to publish the amendment. He could do that, but the White House has said he won’t. So what’s the point of making the statement? I don’t like the term “virtue signaling”, but I can’t think of another reason for this

I think it would be irresponsible to ignore increasingly expansionist rhetoric of any world leader with authoritarian and fascistic tendencies, and it is irresponsible to act as though they would never act on them

At this point I’d settle for bread and circuses. Roman patricians didn’t get tax breaks to build their arenas and plebeians didn’t have to pay them to attend the games.
