Not sure how you reached that conclusion. It is known as an example.

Suspension by the party is different- the MP has not actively chosen to leave but arguably when they join another party, Jenrick to Reform & Corbyn to YP then yes there should be a by-election

Shame he wasn't on the panel

I am not suggesting increasing their costs, I am saying that business requirements should drive staff hiring not differential staff costs arising from NI bands
August 11, 2025 at 7:21 PM
I don't see how equalising the cost discourages part time working surely at the moment employers are discouraged from taking on full timers & the taxpayer subsidises that. There are lots of changes needed to NI & both ee/ers thresholds to reflect current working practices.

I am saying the employee cost per hour should be the same to an employer whether that employee is part time or full time & that would be beneficial to all employees
August 10, 2025 at 10:51 PM
Why should I subsidise Tesco? Reduce bonuses & massive salaries to bosses, fair pay for workers who spend their wages & boost the economy. Rich just hoard. Profits go as dividends rather than reinvested
Plus, start Er NI at zero (lower the rate), so no advantage to employing part-time over full-time

Why should employers be subsidised by UC?
August 10, 2025 at 10:03 PM
And that is an issue because....???
June 26, 2025 at 6:34 AM
And where will we be if everyone does that after the charges are introduced?
June 12, 2025 at 8:20 AM
Parking machines cost money up front.
June 11, 2025 at 5:51 PM
Well, what services are being cut to pay to install the parking machines?
June 11, 2025 at 11:43 AM
I'm not impacted, I live close enough to walk but far enough away to not be bothered by street parking.
I wouldn't object to charging if it was properly planned & managed. Sort the residents parking & the car park repairs first.
June 11, 2025 at 7:40 AM
Wyndley charged for a while, then stopped, so will the charges be reintroduced & will the users of the sports facilities have to pay?
June 10, 2025 at 9:46 PM
It would be an upfront cost, though, and the fees are supposedly to be used to maintain the park, so I don't know if that would extend to residents' permits - very shortsighted.
June 10, 2025 at 9:33 PM
That costs money that BCC don't have.
June 10, 2025 at 8:37 PM
That is a very simplistic view.
Charging for parking in Brum's parks is not going to solve the current financial issues,it is way bigger than that and will just create additional problems
June 10, 2025 at 8:31 PM
Except it won't, people will just park on local streets to avoid the charges, clogging these up instead with limited or no funds being available to address this.
The car parks are also in a complete state but won't be repaired before the charges are introduced. I live near this park.

The pension credit limit is too low. There are a lot of pensioner above this who need it. The better solution would have been to clawback via the tax system as per child benefit with a more reasonable threshold limit- may be average earnings. Smaller savings but better targetting

Probably because they don't pay a living wage - I'd rather stack shelves than wipe arses for the same money

When i see a poor care home owner, I'll have some sympathy

May be care homes shouldn't be run for profit?
