Ugh hate the idea of early sunsets. Big fan of being outdoors in the light.
December 23, 2024 at 11:43 PM
Sounds like a plan. No need to switch the dst until I guess
December 20, 2024 at 2:28 PM
If it comes to that I suppose I’ll have to install a few. Depressing
December 19, 2024 at 4:24 PM
Keep as is. Lived my entire 44 years with it. Would have thought I’d have heard more complaints. I’ve never been to Alaska or Missouri but Maine is amazing in the summer
December 19, 2024 at 12:17 PM
Seems like a crazy mess no?
December 18, 2024 at 11:40 PM
Ok. Yea I prefer my summer nights a bit longer. But everyone has their own reason
December 18, 2024 at 1:04 PM
Everyone seems to have a different reason why to keep it or change I have noticed. I’m team keep it as is. I don’t really want to extend school hours beyond 7.5
December 18, 2024 at 1:03 PM
When are summer sunsets there?
December 18, 2024 at 3:57 AM
Hate the idea of sunset before 7:30 as the longest day of summer. Bummer for kids. Inside
December 18, 2024 at 2:12 AM
Well, that’s not good I suppose. If it happens I’ll certainly miss my extended daylight, all I can really say about it. I’ve got kids now, bummer for them. Hate when they are inside. We’re getting a new roof and I guess I’ll have them install flood lights while up there.
December 18, 2024 at 1:56 AM
But then once you adjusted you enjoyed the extended after work daylight?
December 18, 2024 at 1:52 AM
I suppose it saves energy. I don’t like the idea any less. Still going to want my long spring and summer evenings for outdoor family activities like I did when I was a kid in the 80s
December 18, 2024 at 1:47 AM
People still spend a bit more during day light hours , no? It will be what it will be but I’m bummed for my kids. Summer time they play till bed. Will be in much earlier. That’s it. Prefer being outside after work. Selfish I suppose.
December 18, 2024 at 1:29 AM
I hear ya. I don’t know. It’s been the same my entire life. Suffer for a few months in the cold, come March more daylight more time outside. We celebrate the day. I never knew it was a big deal to anyone. Figured everyone was relieved when we did it. Unofficial start of spring. I love daylight.
December 18, 2024 at 1:22 AM
Keep as is then. I don’t know. What I do know is 6:48 sunsets in the summer sounds awful. Depressing. Unsure why this would be a priority.
December 18, 2024 at 1:12 AM
How about people with kids and those who like to spend family time outdoors after work with their families? 6:52 sunsets here in August without. Total bummer. Seems like we’d be using a bit more energy as well. Hate the idea.
December 18, 2024 at 1:03 AM
Mine would be healthier by enjoying time outside. In the spring they come in around dinner time, summer they’ll play until bed. They are exhausted and go right to bed. Continue the following day. Every kid around here does the same. Can’t play under spot lights. Too risky. Hope it stays as is.
December 17, 2024 at 9:18 PM
Pretty sure it helps mine. Definitely lowers my blood pressure while watching kids enjoy the daylight and twilight hours. Also has me moving around, good for my health. Alternative is being inside by 7:48 at the latest during the summer. Bummer :(
December 17, 2024 at 9:17 PM
I see this, I’m sure it has its benefits. Kids like to play outside, families enjoy leisure time with their families outside in the long spring summer days after work and school.
Never met a kid that didn’t. Kids around here play till bed during the summer, same as I did as a kid. Love that time.
December 17, 2024 at 9:15 PM
We should just keep it the same I suppose. I’ve never heard any complaints about the additional daylight during the spring and summer until Donald tweeted, seems folk look forward to it. Maybe not vampires. Good for kids to be able to play. Good for family time outside, blood pressure etc.
December 17, 2024 at 12:43 PM
I doubt very much it’s healthier for my kids not to go outside and play longer. Certainly not healthier for me. It’s less daylight after work, I’m aware it doesn’t create daylight. Like I said I’m curious who wants vs who opposes. I’ve never met someone who doesn’t want more daylight after work
December 17, 2024 at 12:40 PM
I see no need to prioritize change. Can’t really play before school and work unfortunately. Would be curious to know how many support the change vs not
December 17, 2024 at 12:39 PM
Nah. Healthier for my kids to play outside longer. Would be a 7:48 sunset peak summer here in Maryland. 4:48 sunset during the winter months would be closer to 6p
