Vancouver Aquatic Centre closed indefinitely due to ceiling damage
The aging facility is closed indefinitely to allow for a thorough assessment after a chunk of ceiling fell into the pool

Correct. It is not a cervical exam. If your self-test finds HPV cells in your vagina, you get called back for a traditional Pap test where a doctor scrapes cells off your cervix, which is very painful for many women.

I first heard about it being offered in Holland at least 10 yrs ago.
Your cervix becomes more sensitive as you age. I’m 63 — I almost passed out from the pain when I had my last Pap test at 60.

You don’t touch the cervix. The swab is to see if you have any HPV cells in your vagina. Cervical cancer is caused by the HPV virus. If your swab tests positive for HPV, you get called back for a traditional Pap test. The self-test is as easy as inserting a tampon. Quick and pain free.

You get your results in a few weeks. If there is any abnormality, you will get called back for a traditional pap-test and further follow-up.

I got mine at a walk-in doctors clinic. Was given the kit and pointed to the rest room. You take a swab, whirl it around your vagina (no need to go near the cervix) for 30 seconds. Put the swab in a test tube and hand it in. Easy peasy.

It is wonderful to be able to self-screen. It only takes a few minutes. Is pain free. Way better then having a speculum shoved up your vagina and your cervix scraped. Not all provinces offer this. I delayed my screening until I moved here to avoid a traditional pap-test in Ontario.

I’m thinking more about low-rise. Fire equipment goes up to the 6th floor. I’ve seen basement units with windowless bedrooms.

It’s beyond just bringing light into a bedroom. It’s a fire/flooding/earthquake safety issue. I’m with the professor. Low income people deserve safe homes.
