On January 1st, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, hereby declaring all slaves freed.
It was not until June 19th, when the news of the proclamation reached Texas, which marked the end of slavery in the United States!

I fully support any kind of protest that is peaceful, not violent and destructive!
The no kings rallies are great. I participated. I will continue to participate. I do think the earlier demonstrations in LA were a more fruitful form of escalation. These approaches are synergistic, and we should spend less time sniping at one because we like the vibes of the other
