We might actually get a pomegranate or two this year. I think this is the third year since we planted this tree and it is looking quite good.

It’s January and the fruit on our trees is ripening quickly with the heat we’ve had over the last week. Three loads of apricots through my old Fowlers Vacola preserver and I’ve run out of jars - hopefully the extras I’ve ordered rock up before the peaches are ready!

It seems we’ve got a new neighbour - saw this Australian Boobook owl in a tree out the front our house this morning.

So, a colleague of mine gave two chillies that his father had grown. I’ve now got 14 tiny seedlings that have sprouted so far.

Last night, Microsoft Word started showing predictive text as I was typing, à la Outlook. I can stand it when writing emails, but in Word? Where I write poems and stories? To hell with you (I immediately went into settings and found a box to untick)

First batch of preserved peaches for this summer. The plumbs and apricots were a bit of a disappointment this year, but the peach tree has been amazing!
