Rode from Bordeaux to the coast yesterday, then back again today. Very good bike paths here, well maintained & they're building more.

Spent the past 3 days riding around the Lost Sierra, between the California towns of Portola, Taylorsville and Quincy. Lovely country, fun roads and trails, with charming towns for resupply.

Rode the Donner Lake Rim Trail up to Summit Lake today.

Spent the last few nights bikepacking in the Sierras with my brother, crossing between the Truckee and Yuba river drainages. We visited about a dozen lakes, mostly reservoirs built in the 19th century. They sure liked building dams then! The "trail" here at Sawmill Lake crossed beneath the spillway.
