Sure, but again it seems great on paper. In order to choose a different school, there has to be one in the area in which you live. Who will build those schools in impoverished areas?
And I believe there is very little indoctrination. There is no real basis for those claims as far as I can tell.

But, it will certainly be a lot harder if all you have is an axe. Just sayin'...

Agreed, but let me give you an (inadequate) analogy. Problem: Too many trees are getting cut down at a high rate. Chainsaws are being used because they are quicker and more efficient than axes. What is the most plausible solution for this problem? Not saying it will stop trees from being cut.

It is a good idea on paper, but I honestly don't believe it will improve things if implemented unfortunately.

A privatized education system is a buisiness whose main focus is profit, right? So, it stands to reason that they will focus mainly on more profitable areas to increase profit margins. Then, poor areas like Appalachia get left even further behind than before.

I get that, I do. But, my question would be, how does that practically work out though? I'm from a small rural state, and there aren't that many options in general. My county had 1 high school where I grew up. Just because it is privatized doesn't mean poor areas will have more choices.

Well, to be fair, they aren't blaming the guns. They are blaming people WITH guns. It is kind of like saying there's a problem of trees getting cut down. The biggest culprits are the ones with chainsaws because it makes it easier and quicker. Takes a lot longer with an axe. Just sayin'...

Agreed, our culture is inherently violent, and certainly there are many root causes to gun violence with no easy answers. Gun are ingrained in our history and culture, so I don't see them going away any time soon. We just can't boil it down to a simplistic answer or cause.

What is the advantage in your mind of education being privatized?
December 5, 2024 at 3:31 PM
Guns are an easy tool for someone to use to achieve their desired outcome as quickly and easily as possible. I am by no means anti-gun, as a person who grew up in a holler and hunts. But, from an objective point of vew, I also see how guns are the easiest tools with which to created immediate damage

It isn't JUST mental health issues. Just because someone kills someone else, as in this instance, there could be a myriad number of reasons as to their motivations. We automatically assume that murders like these are the result of mental health, and unfortunately for the human race, they aren't.
