This is also why people have printers that won't print B/W when the color ink runs out - no yellow in the CMYK means no dots. They can't print them in Cyan, Magenta, or Key cause its too obvious I assume, but verify for your printer if you actually are concerned about having the printer linked to u.

Yes. Buy a printer with ink tanks and fool it's sensor for detecting yellow ink. The dots are usually printed in yellow - no yellow ink means no yellow dots. The dots usually form a matrix which identifies the unique S/N, production info, etc. Want more hidden stuff? Lookup the EURion constellation.
