Traveling around the world to the far flung corners of this fragile world, doing my bit to save some heritage & with a good soundtrack in my ears.
Loved the Pipettes designs. That takes me back!

Finally, and not a musician, but someone who had a tremendous influence on a scene was Susan Lucas - More famously know as Punk’s Soo Catwoman.
A look that defined an era.

Trevor Shield of The Beltones brought some beautiful sounds to the reggae scene and am always surprised that they are not better known.

Also from the pre-Beatles world of music, Terry Johnson was a member and later lead of The Flamingos for many years. Cannot say how much I love Doo-Wop and this sound.

In the pre-Beatles world of pop, Bobby Shafto / Robert Farrant, had a short pop career including having a minor hit in the USA.

Away from Birmingham, Chris Dreja of The Yardbirds was happy to play second fiddle to the guitar conveyor belt that saw the band have Topham, Clapton, Beck, Page etc play lead to his rhythm. Was fortunate to see him live a couple of times, was a joy.

Final Birmingham-scene entry is drummer Keith Smart who played with Roy Wood’s Wizard during their successful 70s career.

Also from the Birmingham scene was drummer Bob Lamb. Played with a whole host of Brum bands including Idle Race, Steve Gibbons Band & Locomotive. This tune has always been a favourite.

More famously from The Moody Blues was the recent departure of John Lodge. Was fortunate to see Lodge perform with The Moodies at the Royal Albert Hall & the live rendition of this was a highlight.

Birmingham music has lost some notable musicians. 2 from The Moody Blues, firstly short time Bassist Rod Clark, who only featured in the band between the Denny Laine era & the Justin Hayward period of 66.
Clark died back in March, but I’ve only just realised.
