I know there isn't a lot of polling right now because we're so far away from an election - but this doesn't look like numbers that will send Smith "packing"

I can only hope. But politics has short memories, and Alberta's political tribalism is off the charts

I think that's giving him credit for too much. He's too stupid to know the effects of his actions, and too callous to care. Someone (Project 2025) said "do this thing" and didn't even need to follow that with "and don't ask questions".

Valid. But it's a message for future conservative leaders and party direction. Stop being a debbie downer and just shitting on everything. Bring alternate solutions to the table. Screaming "Canada is Broken" has gotten the conservatives 4 election losses in a row.

I like their vibe, but really only one song stuck for me. I definitely had friends who were diehard fans though.

JFC how is this not an Onion article. Who cares who a disgraced price cheers for.

Its generally just verification that they don't understand what the G7 is.

Fully agreed. I guess I hadn't come across any of those theories or cries so far. Go algorithm!

Oh wait, I think I understand the context here now. People think the AB Gov is going to try to use the NWC to affect or cancel elections or some thing not affected by section 33?
November 6, 2025 at 6:43 PM
Thank you for this. I'll read up. But didn't the Smith gov use it to apply to the Alberta Human Rights Act and Alberta Bill of Rights? I guess both of those have their own NWC's (2.1 of the AB BoR and 1.1 of the AB HRA) And those NWC's don't have guardrails over which sections apply.

It acknowledges the legislation is not necessarily in compliance with the other authorities, but by acknowledging it through use of the NWC prevents the act/policy from being challenged in court for 5 years.
November 6, 2025 at 6:11 PM
Correct me if I am wrong, or point me in the right direction at least.

The NWC is a preemptive measure which can be used in legislation (maybe policies too) to sidestep other legislative authorities which may apply to the subject legislation.

What?!

She and PP both. Physically incapable of positivity.

He needs 3 votes for this budget to pass. This is probably a lure of conservative votes.

They never make it to the end series, so it's never quite this anxiety ridden.

Now, try living in Edmonton the last few years and the pain is real.

Oh Raffi, I love you but please avoid the AI shlock that destroys the environment and steals artists work.

Southeast Asians? Seems like a big leap, and broad stroke statement. Maybe just a little racist, yanno?
